Worship at St Marys

The worshipping community at Saint Mary’s is most definitely not of a monochrome churchmanship! It could best be described as low-church with some traces of catholic worship. We see worship as an opportunity for us to show God how much we love Him and are thankful for all He does in our lives and we recognise the need for diversity and to offer a good variety of worship styles.
There are 3 main Sunday services each week although we do have joint services for special events such as Harvest, Easter, Nativity etc and also join together through the summer holiday weeks.

8.00am Holy Communion

This is a spoken service without music or hymns and takes place in the side chapel of the church dedicated to St. Peter. The service takes about 35 minutes and has a very committed congregation. Come and receive the spiritual food of bread and wine at this peaceful service. Go out with your inner strength renewed. A warm welcome awaits all.

9.45am Parish Communion

A traditional service with hymns, organ and a robed choir, with a duration of about 75 minutes. The hymns are taken from Songs of Fellowship and Hymns Ancient and Modern.

11.30am All-Age Family Praise

A family friendly service with a more relaxed informal feeling, with modern worship songs played by our music group and the use of powerpoint. The service has a duration of about an hour and our children's club, Route 66, meet during part of the time.  On the 2nd Sunday of each month this becomes a family Service when the children stay for the whole service.
